Extend Recurring Tasks

Users would like to be able to extend or create new tasks within a recurring task series.

Excellent Idea! I will definitely advocate for this one. It's been added to our product backlog for review.

In addition to extending recurring tasks, it would be great if users were notified when the tasks in a recurrence are coming to an end so that they know it needs to be extended. Right now, people have to keep their eye on the last task in the recurrence (or hopefully remember a task they need to do each month/week/year) otherwise it gets overlooked.
