Enabling the RingCentral Integration

Overview

Our RingCentral integration allows you to access the RingCentral app within Practifi and place calls directly from your account and contact records. This article outlines the steps for installing and enabling the RingCentral integration in your Practifi organization.

**Note: This content is intended for system administrators and is technical in nature. Please discuss your integration installation plans with your Practifi Customer Support Team for their assistance.*

Before You Begin

This integration will require a paid subscription to RingCentral for users, which will need to be purchased directly from RingCentral. Practifi has no control over RingCentral's app pricing, as this price is set between RingCentral and Salesforce. We recommend reaching out to your contact at RingCentral for further information regarding pricing before proceeding with the installation of the RingCentral integration. 

If errors arise in the RingCentral integration, Practifi Support can not assist in fixing the error as we do not have access to their proprietary code. We will only be able to assist with the installation and enablement steps below. We recommend reaching out to RingCentral's Support team with any errors for assistance. 

Install the RingCentral App

To download the RingCentral app for use in your Practifi organization: 

  1. Select the Setup cog Setup_cog.pngicon in the upper right-hand corner and select Setup from the drop-down options.
  2. Use the Quick Find search bar on the left-hand side to search for "AppExchange".
  3. From the list under the Apps section, select AppExchange Marketplace
  4. In the AppExchange pop-up, search for RingCentral.
    • The RingCentral app listing on the AppExchange can also be accessed via this link.
  5. Click the Get It Now button.
    • During installation, you will be asked what subset of users you wish to grant access to. It is generally recommended to select Install for All Users. All users will not truly have access to RingCentral for Salesforce until an administrator adds them to the Call Center, as detailed in the Install Wizard steps.

  6. Click Install.
  7. When the installation is complete, click Done.

Setting Up RingCentral in Practifi

Once the RingCentral app has been installed into your Practifi organization, you'll access the Install Wizard to begin your setup and configuration. To find the Install Wizard, you will do the following:

  1. Select the App Launcher from the upper left-hand side of the Practifi screen to open the app menu.
  2. Search for RingCentral in the Search apps or items... search bar.
  3. From the search results, select RingCentral Admin for Lightning.
    • The RingCentral Install Wizard opens to guide you through all of the required steps for configuring the RingCentral for Salesforce app. The wizard is divided into seven steps for configuring various settings.

  4. When all the Install Wizard steps have been completed, your basic installation and configuration will be finished.

Once you've completed all installation steps, it is recommended to log out of Practifi and then log back in. You can now launch the RingCentral for Lightning app, which can also be accessed from the App Launcher.
