Adding a New Member

Members can be added to Households or Organizations.  An added Member becomes part of the Entity for whom the Advisor will be developing financial advice and plans.

The process to add Members to either a Household or Organization is the same.  You will either search for an existing Member in Practifi and add them, or create a new Member from the outset and add them.

Action Dropdown

The addition of Members to a Household or Organization is initiated using the Actions drop-down icon above the Client Overview sections on the left side.

The option to add a Member will be labeled according to the type of Entity to which you wish to add the Member.

In both cases, a panel will appear asking whether to add an existing Member (one already recorded in Practifi) or add a new Member (and create a record for them for the first time in Practifi).

Add an Existing Member

Relationship of Member

The Member's Relationship to the Entity needs to be specified, selecting from the dropdown list of relationship types for the Entity type.

Search for Existing Member

Under the field, "Who are you adding?", type a few letters of the Member name, and select from the retrieved list of matches.  If the required name does not appear you will need to create a New Member and add it to Practifi - click the Previous button and select the other radio button shown.  The same process applies to adding a Member to either a Household or Organization.

Click Next to add the selected existing Member to the Entity (Household or Organization).

A success message will appear.

Add a New Member

If you select Create a new member radio button above a panel will appear asking for basic details.  Note the mandatory fields, one of which is where the relationship of the new Member should be selected.  Click Next to create the new Member and add them to the Entity.

A success message will appear.  Click the X on the right to close the message.
